trip overview

Embark on a Marine Wildlife Expedition in Cape Town.

Home to the Marine Big 5 of South Africa: the Great White Shark, Southern Right Whale, Bottlenose Dolphin, Cape Fur Seal & African Penguin.

Day 1 - We begin our Cape Town journey by visiting several weekend markets (Oranjezicht Market, Old Biscuit Mill, Neighbourgoods Market) as well as the Woodstock Art Street.

In the afternoon, we head up to Table Mountain by Cable Car, followed by a visit to Kirstenbosch Gardens

Day 2 - Working with local operators, embark on a scenic tour of the Atlantic Seaboard and Hout Bay, including a boat trip to Duiker / Seal Island where we will also get to Snorkel with the Seals! We then continue our journey to Cape Point Nature Reserve and spend the late afternoon at Boulders Beach to see the African Penguins as they return to their nests after spending their day fishing.

Day 3 - Journey to Hermanus. Recognised by WWF as one of the 12 Best Whale Watching Destinations in the World, spend the day on a Whale Watching & Big 5 Marine Safari Boat Expedition. In the afternoon, join a team of Marine Biologists on a Snorkel or Scuba Dive to assist them in collecting data of Marine Life.

Day 4 - Journey back to Singapore.

As advocates for better Animal Welfare in tourism, Shark Cage Diving can be a little controversial. Attracting or feeding of carnivores for viewing can arguably lead to sharks associating people with food, which may not be a desirable outcome in the long term. As such this Cape Town trip will only include a Whale Watching segment. Travelers may independently arrange their own Shark Cage Dive if they wish.

We understand that encountering a Shark is high on many people's lists. In efforts to encourage better Animal Welfare in tourism, our team is working on selecting an ideal Shark Diving experience to promote that will better balance Animal Welfare, safety as well as the overall experience for travelers.
