Day 8 - (B/L/D) ✈️ to the Peruvian Amazon, Tambopata
✈️ Fly Cusco CUZ to Puerto Maldonado PEM

🌴 After checking in to our rainforest lodge, we begin our Amazon Jungle Adventure with a nature walk. Learn about this 55 million year old rainforest. ✨ After dark, we'll also do a night walk to seek out elusive, nocturnal creatures & critters, such as Tarantulas. 🕷️
The Amazon sprawls over 9 countries, with different access points and unique reasons to visit. 🇵🇪 Peru's Amazon (Tambopata) is a great starting point with good access, incredible wildlife diversity, and is famous for 🌈 Rainbow coloured Macaws 🐦🔥 gathering at Clay Licks in Sept.
Day 9 - (B/L/D) 🌈 Chuncho Clay Lick Macaws 🐦🔥
We set off in the wee hours of the early morning for a 2hr river cruise upstream to the Chuncho Clay Lick. Large flocks of 🌈 Macaws, Parrots & Parakeets 🐦🔥 are known to flock here at dawn to feed on the Clay. Recommended Month: Sept
The Clay is believed to help neutralize toxins or provide the birds with essential minerals. 🌈 Chuncho's Clay Lick is one of the world's largest: it is a naturally exposed, river bank / wall of mineral-rich clay along the river. 🌊
In the afternoon, we head for 🌊 Tres Chimbadas Lake by boat (30min+) and on foot (30min+), known to be home to a resident family of Giant Otters. 🦦

Day 10 (B/L/D) - 🌊 Condenado / Sachavacayoc Lake
Today we explore Condenado / Sachavacayoc Lake in search of Anacondas. 🐍 The Green Anaconda is known as the largest Snake in the world. It is still considered a rare / lucky sighting, so no promises!
Sighted medium sized adults usually measure about 3 - 4m, with a diameter of 15 - 20cm. 🐍 Even rarer larger adults can grow up to 5 - 6m, with a diameter of 25 - 30cm.
In the afternoon, we climb to the top of a 50m Canopy Tower (ie. 15 floor HDB 🤣). Take a moment to enjoy the awe inspiring, seemingly never ending, view of the sea of trees above the mighty Amazon Rainforest. 🌴
Day 11/12 (B) - Return Journey to Singapore 🇸🇬

** To shorten morning journey times, we will be staying deep inside the Tambopata rainforest. 🌴 This allows us to be much closer to key wildlife habitats ✨ shorten early-morning travel & provide us a significantly better chance of spotting wildlife during their peak activity times.
This does come with some trade-offs — accommodations are more basic, rustic and there is ⚠️ no air-conditioning. Please be mentally prepared to rough it out a little & embrace the experience of being fully immersed in the rainforest, surrounded by nature. 🌈
