Day 2 (B/L/D) - Iby'iwacu / Gorilla Guardians
Drive to Volcanoes National Park (~3hrs)
Meet the Iby'iwacu / Gorilla Guardians, learn how former poachers turned conservationists, visit the replica of the Rwandan King's Palace & be immersed in the traditional dance, music & cultural craft demos of the indigenous Batwa community

Day 3 (B/L/D) - Golden Monkey Trek, Mukungwa River Canoe
Begin your first primate trek to seek out the Golden Monkeys in the lower bamboo zone at the base of the volcanoes. It typically takes 30 min - 2hrs to find them. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful canoe down the Mukungwa River.

Day 4 (B/L/D) - Gorilla Trek, Ellen Degeneres Campus
Begin your journey to seek out one of the 12 Gorilla families living on the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains. Every morning, park rangers set out first to locate the Gorilla families, then lead the guests there. It typically takes 1.5 - 3hrs hike, at an elevation of: ~ 2,500 - 3,500m.

After the Gorilla Trek, visit the Ellen Degeneres Campus, an active Gorilla Research Centre, & learn about primatologist & conservationist Dian Fossey. Her study of Gorillas saved them from extinction.

Day 5 (B/L/D) - Twin Lakes & Waterfall
Explore the Twin Lakes, Lake Burera & Lake Ruhondo, formed by ancient lava flows, as well as Russumo or Cyuve Falls.

Day 6 (B/L) - Return to Kigali, Kimironko Market
Return Drive to Kigali (~3hrs) & visit the Kimironko Market, Kigali's largest, busiest & most vibrant public market, the heart of the city where locals shop daily for fresh produce, fabrics, household goods & traditional crafts.

Transfer to KGL Airport by 15.35pm.
